About Ripper OS

One clear view of your training history.

Ripper OS turns exports from MacroFactor, Strong, and Hevy into a single place to understand how you train. It helps you follow progress, consistency, workload, exercise history, and patterns across months and years, without rebuilding your records by hand.

You can use Ripper OS on mobile or desktop. It’s designed mainly for desktop, where the larger dashboard makes it easier to explore charts and compare your training over time.

What Ripper OS helps you see

Most workout apps are good at recording a session. Ripper OS is for looking back. You can follow the complete history of an exercise, see how often you trained and where the gaps were, and review recorded sets, reps, weight, and volume when those values are available.

Highlights and exercise views can help you notice frequently trained movements, muscle groups, plateaus, changes in routine, and useful differences between one period and another. These are patterns in your records, not promises about what caused them.

How it works

  1. Export your workout history from MacroFactor, Strong, or Hevy.
  2. Upload the original CSV or XLSX file to Ripper OS.
  3. Explore the dashboard and, if you want, generate AI insights from a limited summary.

Ripper OS detects supported export formats and brings their records into a consistent view. Known exercise names are matched automatically. An exercise that cannot be identified confidently stays custom until you choose how it should be matched.

How to export your data

MacroFactor

In MacroFactor, open More, then Data Management → Data Export. For the most useful training history, choose the granular export and include your workout or exercise data. MacroFactor can provide aggregate workbook sheets as well as more detailed records; Ripper OS preserves what the export actually contains and does not invent individual sets from a daily total.

Strong

In Strong, open Settings, choose Export Data, and export your workout history as CSV. Keep the original file unchanged when you upload it. Strong’s set rows can provide exercise order, reps, load, duration, distance, notes, and RPE when those fields are present.

Hevy

In Hevy, open your profile or settings, choose Export Data, and export the workout history CSV. Upload that original workout file. Ripper OS reads the workout title, timestamps, exercise blocks, set order, reps, load, duration, distance, notes, and RPE when available.

For all three sources, empty cells remain unavailable; they are not treated as zero. Keep units and exercise names consistent when you can. A barbell bench press and a dumbbell bench press, for example, may be related movements but their recorded loads are not automatically one comparable PR series.

Private by design

CSV and XLSX files are read and analyzed on your device. Original files and raw workout rows are not uploaded to Ripper OS or OpenAI. The processed history and exercise-matching choices are stored locally in this browser.

Clearing browser data can remove your locally stored history. Download a backup first when the backup option is available, especially before clearing site data or changing browsers.

AI is optional

All charts, exercise tools, and regular dashboard views work without an OpenAI account. If you connect OpenAI and request insights, Ripper OS sends a limited, calculated summary to create plain-language observations and practical programming ideas. Original workout rows are not sent.

Your API key is kept only in memory for the current browser session and is not saved to browser storage. OpenAI API billing is separate from a ChatGPT subscription. Keep your key private and revoke it if it is exposed. AI is an optional layer, so an AI error does not affect your uploaded history or charts.

Supported exports

Ripper OS currently supports MacroFactor CSV and XLSX exports, Strong workout-history CSV, and Hevy workout-history CSV. Multiple supported files can be reviewed together, and the import flow can identify records that appear to already be present.

Exercise matching depends on the names used in each export. Ripper OS uses known source names and aliases where possible, while preserving genuinely custom exercises instead of forcing an unsafe match. You can choose a different match or keep an exercise custom when the automatic result is not right.

Limitations

Ripper OS is a training-data visualization tool, not a source of medical advice. Its conclusions are only as reliable as the information in the uploaded export. Machine exercises, assisted movements, missing weights, and inconsistent units may not be directly comparable. A recorded load is kept as the source reported it; it is not silently turned into a universal measure of effort.

Uploads are limited to 25 MB. Some exports contain daily or muscle-level summaries rather than full workout detail, so the dashboard will show only what that source supplied.

Return to the dashboard to upload a file, read the full in-app guide, or explore your history. If something looks wrong, report a bug with the source and export type if you can. You can also support Ripper OS.
